Find captains & crew
Wether you are looking for a captain and crew for long or short term, and on whatever size yacht, JYPA can help. If you'd like to go cruising, but lack the necessary crew members, we are happy and able to introduce you to the best captain and or crew for your situation. We want to get you on the water without a worry about who is manning your vessel.

Sometimes it's hard to get all the scheduling in line for your cruising desires. Contact us as early as possible so that we can make all your cruising plans happen the way you'd like.
We can provide captain and crew introductions for short term cruises under 14 days, or medium term cruises of 15 days or more. We have different ways of providing crew according to the desired length of your cruise.

Short term contracts; from registration to return to port.

1. Registration of boat and owner information: registration fee.
-Provide boat registration papers, as well as a copy of proof of insurance.

2.In the event of an inspection by a JYPA recognized specialist.
-A report detailing the condition of the vessel will be submitted to JYPA.
In the event no repairs need to be made: we will proceed with captain and crew introductions.
In the event that repairs are deemed necessary: after repairs are complete the vessel will undergo a final inspection.
(JYPA can arrange repairs if necessary)

3.We will give you an estimate for captain and crew introductions.
Depending on the date and time of your planned cruising as well as your crew needs we will work with you to find the best captain, crew and all around team available.
These are the lowest per day rates for captain or crew:
Conditions applied to those rates listed above:
-Listed rates include 8 hours of work per day.
-Any overtime beyond 8 hours will be charged at an hourly rate of 15% of the daily rate.
-Captain or crew coming from a distance will also invoice for transportation and hotel costs when applicable.
-The above listed rates are the lowest available. Rates may increase during the busy or holiday seasons.
-The above listed rates do not include tax.

4.Contract and payment
-When the cruising dates, as well as the participating captain and crew, have been decided we will enter into a contract.
-All inspection fees and a deposit of petty cash to be used for trip expenses are expected within one week after deciding on the terms of the contract. In the event that the yacht's departure is less than a week away, payment will be expected by the day before departure.

5.Pre departure check (only if a captain is hired)
If a captain has been hired to pilot the yacht he or she will complete an inspection of the vessel. (This service is included in the captain's rate)
6.Departure

*If the cruise is cancelled due to weather there will be no cancellation charges, only the fees incurred by work done prior to cancellation.In the event of non weather related cancellations JYPA's rules will be used to decide if any fees are due.

7.Upon returning to port
-After returning to port the yacht will be washed.
-All billing or refunding of the boat's petty cash (projected daily expenses will be collected prior to departure and the remainder returned after the trip is completed) will be decided within 10 business days of the end of the cruise.
